Yankunta Shamanic Center is located in the Peruvian Amazon, Madre de Dios region (near the Brazilian border). The closest city is Puerto Maldonado (about 10 miles far), which counts with a local airport and an international bus station. The weather is mostly hot and humid and the rainy season coincides with northern hemisphere's winter (December to March). The shamanic center operates all year long. The region is notorious for its great variety and abundance of plant and animal species.

Master Yankunta's office is in the historical city of Cuzco (near its main square), thereby he also performs ceremonies on the mountains close to town. Nevertheless, more intense apprenticeship and deeper initiations take place at the shamanic center in the jungle. Because of being located high on the Andes (3.400 m.a.s.l.), the weather in Cuzco is usually cold. The region is notorious for the ruins on its surroundings (such as the Machu Picchu complex) and it's flooding with tourists all year long.
